Lamb
Our lambs are born in early spring and harvested the following winter. They are available as individual cuts such as butterfly lamb chops, boneless leg, etc. It’s best to stock up when we open in May because we usually sell out by mid summer.
Pork
Our pigs get a good start with their mother before coming to the ranch in late spring. With a pretty good sized pen to romp in, yes they do especially dusk after a hot summer’s day, they live the life. Fed mostly corn we grow and alfalfa, with lotsa left over veg from the store they perform an essential function for us. Harvested mid winter they are available the following spring as individual packaged cuts.
Beef
Grown here at the ranch on our pasture until weaned, then alfalfa hay and some corn we grow ourselves. Harvested late spring and available as individual packaged cuts the quality is really superb.
Chicken
We start our chicks as day olds and in a little brooder we’ve set up so they don’t get to cold. Within a week or two they are running around outside. We harvest without the mechanical mess that makes factory chicken such a problem. The result is a cleaner, less watery fryer that you just have to try to understand, unless you’ve had one at Grandma’s and then you know! They weigh around 4 lbs each and are $3.25 per pound.
